BACH POSTER 2.jpg

Bach is Blue

Kate can’t speak or move. She’s trapped in her body. And, yet, she exists in a beautiful, liminal space full of colour, one where Bach is blue.

What is the experience of people in minimally conscious states? To what extent can they see, hear and feel? How can we know if they’re in any pain?

What if it’s actually beautiful?

This question is explored in ‘Bach is Blue’ as Kate tries to make sense of the glimmers of the world that come through to her while she is in a ‘locked in’ state.

Inspired by real cases and conversations with experts in neurology, the film takes the viewer on a short kaleidoscopic journey to a reworked Bach soundscape as Kate tries to reach across the divide
